A collaboration between Co-Lab and urbaMonde to map the different collaborative housing forms in Europe

Those interested in understanding trends in collaborative housing struggle with a lack of comparable data, as well as the inconsistent terminology used.

To help tackle this problem, the Co-Lab Mapping project developed a categorisation of collaborative housing and a mapping tool, accessible as a visually appealing online platform.

During the hybrid webinar “The Co-Lab Mapping project: a visualisation tool for collaborative housing in Europe", the results were presented by Darinka Czischke and Sara Brysch from the Co-Lab Research team. Carla Huisman (TU Delft), Alice Pittini (Housing Europe Observatory) and Michael LaFond (id22: Institute for Creative Sustainability, Berlin) joined the discussion as experts in the field, debating the scope of collaborative housing and the relevance of including quantitative data on collaborative housing in general housing surveys.
